The geomagnetic field was quiet to minor storm on November 23. Solar wind speed ranged between 330 and 557 km/s (all day average 422 km/s - increasing 89 km/s over the previous day) under the influence of a high speed stream from CH248.
Solar flux measured at 20h UTC on 2.8 GHz was 76.8. The planetary A index was 18 (STAR Ap - based on the mean of three hour interval ap indices: 18.0). Three hour interval K indices: 11454333 (planetary), 02453322 (Boulder).
The background x-ray flux is at the class A3 level.
At midnight there was 1 spotted region on the visible solar disk. The solar flare activity level was very low. No C class events were recorded during the day.
Spotted regions not numbered by NOAA/SEC:
[S683] A new region emerged in the southeast quadrant on November 23. Location at midnight: S02E37.
November 21-23: No obvious partly or fully Earth directed CMEs were detected in LASCO imagery.

A recurrent coronal hole, CH248, in the southern hemisphere was in an Earth facing position on November 19-23. Only the northernmost extensions, including a trans equatorial extension in the easternmost part of the coronal hole, were within potentially geoeffective positions.
Processed SOHO/EIT 284 image at 19:06 UTC on November 23. The darkest areas on the solar disk are likely coronal holes.
The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet to active on November 24-26 due to effects from CH248, occasional minor storm intervals are possible.

1) Effects from a coronal hole could reach Earth
within the next 5 days. When the high speed stream has arrived the color changes to green.
2) Effects from a CME are likely to be observed at Earth within 96 hours.
3) There is a possibility of either M or X class flares within the next 48 hours.
Green: 0-20% probability, Yellow: 20-60% probability, Red: 60-100% probability.
Long distance low and medium frequency (below 2 MHz) propagation along east-west paths over high and upper middle latitudes is very poor. Propagation on long distance northeast-southwest paths is poor to fair.
Monitoring remarks from a location near N58E06: At 02:45 UTC propagation to North America was poor although most of the common Newfoundland stations could be heard with fair to good signals. At 03:30 UTC propagation was very poor as the current disturbance had intensified.
