The geomagnetic field was inactive to unsettled on October 27. Solar wind speed ranged between 437 and 532 (all day average 469) km/sec under the decreasing influence of a stream from CH194.
Solar flux measured at 20h UTC on 2.8 GHz was 71.6. The planetary
A
index was 6 (STAR Ap - based on the mean of three hour interval ap
indices: 5.9).
Three hour interval K indices: 30013211 (planetary), 30123221 (Boulder).
The background x-ray flux is below the class A1 level.
At midnight the visible solar disk was spotless. The solar flare activity level was very low. No C class events were recorded during the day.
October 25-27: No obvious fully or partly Earth directed CMEs were observed.

No obvious coronal hole are currently in or near Earth facing positions.
Processed SOHO/EIT 284 image at 19:06 UTC on October 27. The darkest areas on the solar disk are likely coronal holes.
The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet on October 28-31.

1) Effects from a coronal hole could reach Earth
within the next 5 days. When the high speed stream has arrived
the color changes to green.
2) Material from a CME is likely to impact Earth within 96 hours.
3) There is a possibility of either M or X class flares within the next
48 hours.
Green: 0-20% probability, Yellow: 20-60% probability, Red: 60-100% probability.
Long distance low and medium frequency (below 2 MHz) propagation along east-west paths over high and upper middle latitudes is good. Propagation on long distance northeast-southwest paths is poor. Trans Atlantic propagation conditions are normally monitored every night on 1470 kHz. Dominant stations tonight: Radio Vibración (Venezuela), WLAM Lewiston ME and WWNN Boca Raton FL. Lots of stations from the eastern parts of the USA and Canada were heard throughout the MW band with the best signals in the lower half of the band. WIOD Miami 610 was once again good, while all the New York 50 kW stations had good to very good signals.
